Tubectomy & MTP Surgery

What is Tubectomy ?

title

In a natural process, sperm swims through the fallopian tubes to meet with the egg and results in pregnancy. Tubectomy is a method of birth control, and it is known as getting your tubes tied. Tubal ligation is a surgery that saves a woman from becoming pregnant. It shuts off her fallopian tubes (carrier of an egg from the ovary to the uterus every month). But when these tubes are sealed, the egg and sperm cannot reach each other and limits pregnancy.

What is MTP?

It is a method of terminating a pregnancy using medicines. It is feasible only for a limited period of 7 weeks of gestation after that surgical termination takes over. It is one of the safe modes of terminating an undesired pregnancy. In this method, a set of medicines is given to the patient which can be taken orally or by injection.
