What are the Symptoms of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Diseases?
Gynaecological symptoms may relate to medical conditions or urological problems. If you observe the following signs, then consult your physician for a diagnosis
- Bleeding within periods
- Frequent or urgent necessary to urinate, or a burning sensation during urination
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding, especially while or after intercourse
- Pain in the pelvis that varies from menstrual cramps
- Itching, burning, inflammation, redness, or soreness in the vaginal area

Diagnosis

- Biopsy:A biopsy includes extracting a small piece of tissue from the body for microscopic exam and testing. It is of various types as the breast biopsy, Cervical biopsy, Endometrial or Uterine Biopsy
- Bone Density Test:: It determines low bone mass (osteopenia or osteoporosis). Also, predicts the risk of future breaks and encourages doctors to decide whether you will need medication therapy or not.
- Colposcopy: It is useful when the cervix seems abnormal while a routine test or if a Pap test shows the presence of abnormal cells.
- Endocervical Curettage (ECC): It is used in combination with a cervical biopsy.
- Hysterosalpingography: In this X-ray procedure, a dye is inserted into the uterus to catch any abnormalities of the uterine wall.
- Mammogram: This gives a picture of the interior composition of the breast.
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI): It identifies the area of uterine fibroids.
- Pelvic Ultrasound: It is used to produce an image of pelvic organs and used to estimate uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts.
Pre-operative instructions
- Fix an appointment with your doctor a week before surgery.
- Do not eat or drink after midnight unless otherwise instructed.
- Reach hospital 2 hours before your scheduled surgery time.
- Follow physician’s instructions on the necessary for bowel training before surgery.
Post- Treatment Precautions
- Women who have open abdominal surgery may be granted home with staples, stitches (sutures), or tape strips and removed within 3 to 10 days.
- Take off the bandage after 24 to 48 hours of surgery.
- Take a shower to make the strips to remove quickly.
- Keep the abdominal incisions clean by showering.
- Do not scrub the area.
- Do not use creams, lotions, or other substances to the incision without concerning with your surgeon.
